DE PERE—The West De Pere Phantoms girls basketball team got a last second three-point miss by the New London Bulldogs, Jan. 15, to hold on and win by a final of 47-44 in a matchup of first and second place teams in the Bay Conference.

In its 34th year of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, the Gatorade Company announced Jan. 15 that Maddie Koch of Ashwaubenon High School was its 2018-19 Gatorade Wisconsin Volleyball Player of the Year.

With the cancellation of two area Nordic races midweek due to low snow, Ashwaubenon Nordic Ski Team (ANST) coach, Scott Putman, devised a junior race for high school and middle school athletes on the ski trails in Lakewood, Wisconsin, January 12. 

POUGHKEEPSIE, NEW YORK – Max White, a 2017 Ashwaubenon High School graduate, had his choice of Big 10 schools to attend for academics, but he wanted to continue his swimming career as well.

DE PERE—The West De Pere boys basketball team won their fourth game in a row as they defeated the Milwaukee Hamilton Wildcats by a final of 71-58, Jan. 12, at West De Pere High School.

The Bay Port girls’ basketball team had three players score in double digits, held off a second-half rally by Green Bay Preble and remained undefeated on the season with a 69-58 Fox River Classic Conference victory over the Hornets Jan. 11 at Preble High School.

Abbey Ambrosius (AM-BRO-SHUS) is a senior at Bay Port High School actively involved in theater and is also the student council president and the class president.

The Bay Port and Ashwaubenon wrestling teams took their Fox River Classic Conference dual down to the wire Jan. 10.

ASHWAUBENON—The Notre Dame Tritons girls’ basketball team limited the Ashwaubenon Jaguars to just eight field goals on the night in route to a 42-21 victory.
