Abbey Ambrosius (AM-BRO-SHUS) is a senior at Bay Port High School actively involved in theater and is also the student council president and the class president.
Ambrosius is not quite sure where she will attend college yet, but she hopes to become a pediatrician someday.
In her spare time, she likes to cook and teach religion classes to young kids.

I have to ask why your nickname is Lettuce.
“In the theater department, there are like nine girls with the same first name as me, so during my freshman year, they were looking up nicknames, and Lettuce popped up.”
Tell me about your family.
“I have an older sister named Jenna who is 20 and goes to UW-Eau Claire. My dad is a welder and my mom is a TSA officer – she said she finds a lot of crazy things. My mom graduated from Ashwaubenon and my dad from Southwest.”
Your senior pic was taken at Ambrosius Studios – any relation?
“It’s my dad’s cousin who owns it and takes all the photographs.”
Are you a good photographer?
“I do a little, but it’s more of a summer thing for me.”
Let’s talk about the activities you do at Bay Port.
“I’m a student director for the plays and musicals, so I basically help the directors anyway I can. For student council, it’s pretty crazy, especially around Homecoming time. There are lots of activities throughout the year. Being class president is busy, too, but not as busy as student council. I work with the administration on issues we might have and help with fundraising.”
Is there a sport you wish you had done at Bay Port?
“Softball. I played that when I was younger.”
What is something about you most people wouldn’t know?
“I like superhero movies – my favorite is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.”
What’s on your music playlist?
“I listen to a lot of countries, but I also listen to 2000’s music.”
What three words best describe you?
“busy, outgoing, caring.”
Does a favorite family vacation come to mind?
“We went to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, once and visited the Smokies. It was so pretty.”
On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me …
“Sleeping in. That’s my one day I don’t have anything to do.”
What would your dream job be?
“To be an astronaut for a day – space has always fascinated me.”
What would be your least favorite household chore?
“I hate vacuuming.”

“I’d like to think I made a difference because I have been so active. Also, as an outgoing and kind person.”
