GREEN BAY – The Green Bay West Wildcats went into their second game of the conference to face off against one of their rivals, the Sheboygan North Golden Raiders, at the newly built Green Bay West stadium. The Wildcats would go on to lose 32-14.
The game began with the Golden Raiders receiving the ball; they wasted no time putting points on the board as they returned the kickoff for a touchdown. Since Sheboygan North came out strong all of the momentum was on their side.
West wanted to respond with a touchdown but Sheboygan North’s defense would not allow it, forcing the wildcats to try for a field goal in the red zone, but the attempt was no good.
Towards the quarter’s final minutes, the Golden Raiders got the ball back and ran an outside toss to their running back. This led to a 90-yard rushing touchdown for the Raiders, but their kicker missed the field goal. Making the score now 0-13 and ending the second half.
Once the third quarter started Green Bay West came back out with a mission to score, using the first eleven minutes of the half to get inside of the red zone, but even with all of their efforts they were stopped short of the end zone and were forced to hand the ball to the Golden Raiders.
Soon after they got the ball back, the Golden Raiders went for another run up the middle. Once the running back broke free, he ran for an 80-yard touchdown.
Even though Green Bay West was down by three possessions they didn’t give up, as they kept fighting and eventually scored their first touchdown of the game with a deep ball to Senior Tight End Mason Brundidge.
After this, the offense found its rhythm, but the defense still could not stop the Golden Raider’s run attack. Sheboygan North received the ball and took the ball to the end zone for another rushing touchdown.
This flow continued throughout the rest of the game with Green Bay West scoring another touchdown, but the Golden Raiders showed no sign of slowing down, as they continued to score. Eventually putting the game out of reach with the final score being 32-14.
