It wasn’t Ryan Sweeney’s best game of his career but arguably his most important for the Green Bay East boys’ basketball team.

Ten days after losing a heartbreaker in a road game to UW-Milwaukee, the UW-Green Bay women’s basketball team turned the tables on the Panthers last night.

The Notre Dame Academy girls’ basketball team continued its postseason dominance with another convincing win against Fox Valley Lutheran.

The basketball hoop in the backyard of Jeff and Krista Kinziger’s house in De Pere is battered, with three boys – Jake, Johnny and Zach – playing games.

The Horizon League announced All-League Awards, and UWGB basketball freshmen Kamari McGee and Cade Meyer were both selected to the All-Freshman team.

Dreams came true for two area wrestlers last weekend as Bay Port’s Jacob Ward and De Pere’s Shane Corrigan each came home with WIAA Division 1 state titles.

After two days of racing in zero degree temperatures Feb. 12-13, the Ashwaubenon Nordic Ski Team boys edged rival Iola by a point to claim third.

Earlier this week, the Horizon League announced the All-League Awards, and the UW-Green Bay women’s basketball team was represented in multiple categories. 

Jake Jazgar recently completed his season with the Ashwaubenon hockey team, where the Jaguars went 18-6, including a win over Bay Port.

Several area boys’ basketball teams learned their seeding for the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) postseason.
