Tritons stifle Red Raiders 64–45

Notre Dame Academy (13-5) put together one of its most dominant performances of the season on Tuesday night, defeating Pulaski (8-9) 64–45 behind a balanced offensive attack and strong defensive performances. The Tritons controlled the pace early and never let Pulaski find a consistent rhythm, turning strong preparation into a convincing road win.

Notre Dame was led by senior guard Leo Weber, who scored a game-high 18 points while knocking down four three-pointers. Weber’s efficient scoring helped stretch Pulaski’s defense and opened up the floor for his teammates. Austin Hendricks and Jack Warden each added 15 points, giving Notre Dame three double-figure scorers and a team total of 64 points.

Pulaski was led by Noah Migil, who finished with 15 points, while Bohdan Schmidt contributed 12. Despite those efforts, Pulaski struggled to generate clean looks for much of the night as Notre Dame’s defense stayed disciplined.

Notre Dame Academy head coach Brian Bobinski credited his team’s defensive focus as a major factor in the win.

“We've really been focused on improving our defense the last few weeks. Historically for us, the last few years, it's been a strength. We haven't been quite as good as we would like, but we certainly are capable and we're moving in the right direction. So that was definitely a point of emphasis heading into tonight,” Bobinski said.

That emphasis showed early, as Notre Dame forced Pulaski into long possessions and contested shots. The Tritons stayed patient on offense as well, moving the ball until quality opportunities were created. By the time halftime came around the Tritons were in the lead 31-21.

“I think we're very unselfish. The ball moved around a lot. We had a lot of guys make shots tonight. We found cutters, we found some layups around the rim, and just were pretty unselfish with the ball,” Bobinski said. “And then obviously a really great energy on defense. They’ll run some long possessions, and our guys dug in and battled and continue to compete. No matter how long it took to get to stop.”

Weber echoed his coach’s thoughts, noting that defense was a major point of emphasis leading into the matchup.

“We wanted to hold them under their scoring average. And we did a good job of that, obviously, and held them well below it,” Weber said.

Offensively, Weber pointed to ball movement as the key to Notre Dame’s success. The Tritons consistently found open shooters, which kept Pulaski from locking down one player.

“Just moving the ball, backdoor cuts, sharing the ball with teammates. Everyone was sharing the ball really well. We got open looks,” Weber said.

Notre Dame’s ability to combine defensive pressure with efficient offense allowed them to build and maintain a comfortable lead throughout the game. Each scoring run seemed to come from a different player, making it difficult for Pulaski to mount a comeback.

Despite the loss, Pulaski showed resilience throughout the night, continuing to compete even as Notre Dame’s defense extended possessions and limited open looks. The Red Raiders worked to generate offense through patient ball movement, but ultimately struggled to find consistent scoring as Notre Dame’s defensive pressure remained steady throughout the game.

With the postseason nearing, both Bobinski and Weber emphasized that the focus remains on steady improvement rather than looking too far ahead.

“Same thing. Just keep getting better. It's February. You know, we like how our season started, but we've got a lot of games left and a lot of goals we want to accomplish. So just keep getting better and keep getting tougher,” Bobinski said.

Weber shared a similar mindset when asked how the Tritons will prepare for their next game.

“Just keep working hard in practice, focusing on defense, rebounding, boxing out, and just moving the ball for sure,” he said.

Notre Dame Academy will return to action Friday against Manitowoc Lincoln, while Pulaski will look to regroup ahead of its next matchup against Ashwaubenon.
