How did you get started playing your sport?
I got started playing soccer when I was five years old on a Howard rec team. My dad was the coach and started me with this soccer journey.

How has the balance between academics and athletics changed for you from freshman to senior year?
Academics and athletics have definitely become more intense as I progressed through high school. Especially with being a captain this year, I have found myself making sure I maintain the standards I have for the team but also to make sure I keep up with my classes and continue to learn. At the end of the day you are a student before an athlete.

What is your favorite part about this sport? What is the most challenging part about this sport?

My favorite part about soccer is the challenge not only mentally, but physically as well. The mental challenge of seeing the patterns and that every play is different but also being able to run for 80 minutes and perform is what I love. I think the most challenging part about soccer is that the game will find your mistakes. You have to be on and focused for the whole game or you will get exposed.

What has been your most memorable experience in high school sports so far?
My most memorable experience in high school sports so far has been the bus rides back after a big win like against Preble my sophomore year.

Do you have a bucket list goal that pertains to your sport?
I would like to watch Liverpool FC play in England.

How does it feel as a senior, to look back throughout high school and see your growth (as a person and athlete)?
I think it is kind of amazing to see how far I have grown since my freshman year. On the field I have improved my game and grown into a leadership role. I have also grown greatly as a person finding out my likes and experiencing my high school years.

Do you have any pre-game rituals/routines/superstitions?
I always have a bowl of yogurt with granola and frozen blueberries before a game and like to listen to Drake.

Dream vacation destination?

France.

Any quotes that help you in your sport or life in general?
I can’t cry about having a lot on my plate when my goal was to eat.

Favorite food?
Pizza.

Any hobbies outside of your sport?
Being outside, being with friends, watching Liverpool FC.

Favorite movie/TV show?
The Amazing Spiderman.

Any memorable coaches or teammates you’d like to shout out?

I would like to shout out Marc Baumbach, David Dougherty, and my high school coaches who have all helped me grow as an athlete and a person.

Future Plans? (college, major, career, etc.)
I plan to play soccer in college and major in marketing.
