Green Bay Places Three Inside Top 20 to Closeout Wright State Spring Invite

DAYTON, Ohio - The regular season came to an end for the Green Bay men’s golf team Monday afternoon. Green Bay took 5th place out of 11 at the Wright State Spring Invite.

Zak Kulka climbed into the top 12 and had one of his best spring performances, tallying par (71) in the first and third rounds, helping him complete the tournament just two over (215).

Yinta Yang and Joe Forsting were part of an eight-way tie for 17th place overall, scoring a 221 (+8). The duo had similar scorecards, with the former recovering from a 76 (+5) in the opening round to record a 72 (+1) in the second round and 73 (+2) in the final round.

Forsting opened the tournament with a 77 (+6) on the first 18 before coming back to notch a 73 (+2) in the second round and a 71 (E) in Monday’s final round.

Trent Meyer and Logan Pechinski were part of a five-way tie for 29th place, completing the tournament 11 over. Meyer was extremely consistent, scoring a 74 (+3) in the opening round before tallying a 75 (+4) in the second and third rounds. Pechinski started strong with a 72 (+1) in the first round but hit a rough patch in the second, tallying a 78 (+7). He came back on Monday for a 74 (+3).

Max Reis rounded out the squad with a 226 (+13), good for an eight-way tie for 34th overall.

Green Bay will prepare for the Horizon League Championships, which take place in Howey-In-The-Hills, Flor. The tournament begins Saturday, April 20, and ends Monday, April 22.
