The Beyer Home

Oconto

Posted

The Beyer Home was built in 1868 by Cyrus and Kitty Hart, in an Italianate style with bricks shipped from De Pere.

The historic home had multiple owners before coming into the hands of George and Fanny Beyer in 1878, who remodeled it into a Queen Anne style home.

They added a wrap-around porch, three-story tower room and a south addition.
In 1940, it was turned over to the Oconto County Historical Society.

In 1970, it underwent a complete interior restoration to that of a home in the 1890s.

It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

The home is located at 917 Park Ave., Oconto.
