You’ve Got Nails by Amy LLC
Medium/Art Form: Visual
When and how did you start making art?
I started my career as a nail artist about 7 years ago and started drawing/painting about a year ago after I met another nail artist that got some of us nail artists involved with a wearable art exhibition at S.A.G.E in Green Bay. I enjoyed creating a piece so much I wanted to explore other ways I could unleash my creativity and make more art.
What inspires your work?
Painting flowers and nature is my form of meditation. I recently started painting portraits of my family and have found it challenging but very rewarding.
How would you describe Green Bay/NE Wisconsin’s arts community?
I am very new to the arts community in Green Bay and I am in awe of the talent that is among them. At first, I was very hesitant to submit any of my work for fear of criticism or rejection. Now that I overcame my fear, I am so glad that I did because I’d love to engage with other creative minds.
What is the best advice you have for other artists?
Keep making art, even if it’s not for someone else. I sometimes can be my absolute worst critic but just the process of getting lost in a painting, or craft is relaxing and peaceful.
Where can people find your work?
Most people can find my work on my clients fingertips or on Instagram @amydeevandenlangenberg or at www.youvegotnailsbywww.youvegotnailsbyamy.com.amy.com.
