A week of books, beer and bay sailing

Fruit-forward beer tasting

Thursday, June 9

Hinterland Brewery, Green Bay

On 6 p.m. Thursday, June 9, Green Bay Girls Pint Out will host a fruit-forward beer tasting at Hinterland Brewery, complete with a certified beer judge in attendance.

A collection of 8-10 beers with a fruity palette will be served from across the world and our own backyard.

Learn about the fruits in the beers and the fermentation process.

This event is exclusively for ladies who are 21 and up, and pre-registration is required as there are only 16 spots available.

Tickets are $35.

Finding North

Saturday, June 11

Cup O Joy, Green Bay

Finding North will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at Cup O Joy.

The band ranges from a duo in performance to a full six-person band, alternating string performances between a bluegrass and indie style.

This event is free to attend.

Early bird and reserved seating is available at an additional cost.

Nothing serious book group

Tuesday, June 14

Brown County Library, Green Bay

The Nothing Serious Book Group will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, at the Brown County Library.

The library hosts a book club for those without the time to meet weekly.

No set novel or book is on the schedule, attendees show up and discuss the books they most recently read, or one that holds an impact on them.

There is no cost to attend the meeting and no prior registration is needed.

Halloween in June

Friday, June 10

The Lyric Room, Green Bay

The Lyric Room is ready to celebrate the spooky season early with a Halloween rock concert at 8:30 p.m., Friday, June 10.

Holly and the Nice Lions, Won’t Stay Dead, The Brash Menagerie and BUD perform a collection of bone-rattling, pop-punk songs for a halfway-to-Halloween performance.

Those in attendance must be of the legal drinking age (21+) or over.

Tickets are $7.

Free sailboat rides

Friday, June 10

Green Bay Sail and Paddle Inc., Green Bay

Green Bay Sail and Paddle Inc. will host a free day of sailing for those with or without sea legs at 5:30 p.m., Friday, June 10, at the South Bay Marina.

Thirty minute rides will be available for those as young as five years old, as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

This event previews the sort of classes Green Bay Sail and Paddle Inc. offers over the summer.

De Pere Food Truck Rally

Sunday, June 12

Nicolet Square, De Pere


The Food Truck Coalition will host a food truck rally with family friendly activities and local food vendors, at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 12, at Nicolet Square in De Pere.

Local bands will be in attendance as well as a rock-climbing station and an axe-throwing station.

Some of the food trucks that will be at the event include Captain Quesadilla, Mai’s Egg Rolls, The Dough Shoppe and Monkey Tailz.
