De Pere is a great place to be

I am proud to formally announce that The Press is expanding and will now serve the city of De Pere.

I have known it for a while now as a local resident, but De Pere is a great place to be.

There is so much happening here, so we at The Press felt it was time to step up and offer our brand of news and sports coverage to the citizens of De Pere.

We at The Press feel citizens of communities want local news and sports, which De Pere has no shortage of with two school districts and an involved city council.

If you are familiar with our product, you know that we pride ourselves on being at meetings, reporting what’s happening and holding elected officials responsible.

Our commitment means we will be at city council and committee meetings and school board meetings.

I can assure you, we place a priority in hyper-local coverage that others frankly don’t.

We don’t shift through agendas and look for controversy. We cover all meetings because as citizens you should be informed of what’s happening in your community at all times.

But we are more than a paper that covers just local government. We want to tell your stories.

These could be stories about a new business or a feature on special residents. We want to promote your businesses and your charities. We want to be there for you.

I have known De Pere to be welcoming for five years now. I shop the local businesses and dine at local restaurants.

I have been to the Pink Flamingo and use the Fox River Trail. I have watched the fireworks at Voyageur Park. I enjoy the local parks and library and support St. Norbert College.

I choose to live here because of the quality of life and the people who make the community a wonderful place to live and work.

Because of my affinity for the city and everything it offers, I know The Press will be a great fit. I take pride in where I live and I take pride in my work as well.

We are the only family-owned community newspaper in the area. That means we will give De Pere extensive coverage, because we want to thrive with you.

We are also making an investment in editorial staff to better provide you with the news.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me with story ideas or just to say hi. Our newsroom can be reached at 499-1200. My email is [email protected]

Our reach as a publication grows every day. Visit us on Facebook at facebook.com/myvillagepress to find out more about what we do. We are weekly in print and a daily online. Visit thepress.media to find out for yourself.

If you want the news delivered once a week, we can do that as well.

Keep an eye out for us De Pere, because we are here to stay.
