GREEN BAY – L.V. Teofilo was recently named the 2024 recipient of Club ItaloAmericano of Greater Green Bay’s Pete and Marlene Feira Founders Award.

Teofilo, who resided in De Pere before passing away in December 2022, was president of the club’s board of directors 2014-21.

This is the first time the award has been given posthumously.

Club ItaloAmericano is a social organization for those with a passion for Italy and/or the Italian heritage and way of life.

The club sponsors events throughout the year that foster appreciation of Italian culture, language, food and music.

Italian heritage is not a requirement — only half of the club’s current members are of Italian descent.

The Founders Award is named for two of the charter members of the club.
The award was created in 2018 to recognize exceptional contributions from individuals or organizations in furthering the club’s objectives and promoting Italian and Italian American culture within the greater Green Bay community.

The board of directors solicits nominations from club members for the award, and forwards names of the top candidates to the Feira family, who make the final selection.

Marlene Feira, together with her daughter Becky McClure and grandson Adam McClure, announced this year’s winner at the club’s 30th Anniversary

Celebration, held in late September.

It was accepted on behalf of the Teofilo family by Morey Tabatabai and Vladimir Wojnar.

In addition to serving as board president, Teofilo organized and hosted various club events with his wife Mary.
