Pulaski Area Historical Society presents “Our History, Our Future” featuring Author Lynda Drews

Posted

The Pulaski Area Historical Society is inviting community members, history enthusiasts and guests to an evening of local connections, storytelling and history when it presents “Our History, Our Future” on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the American Legion in Pulaski.

The special event will feature Wisconsin author Lynda Drews, author of The Maid and the Socialite, a historical nonfiction book that uncovers the little-known stories of two nineteenth-century Wisconsin women and their connection to Green Bay’s famous Minahan family.

Drews will share her journey of researching these women’s lost histories and bringing their stories to life. Her presentation offers a behind-the-scenes look at historical research and the process of uncovering stories that have been overlooked or forgotten.

A connection to Pulaski

Drews’ presentation has a special connection to the Pulaski area through the Minahan family and the historic Chase Stone Barn.

The Minahan family played a prominent role in Green Bay history, and members of the family had ties to the Chase Stone Barn at various points in its history. The connection serves as a reminder that the stories of Wisconsin communities are often intertwined in surprising ways.

Drews is a popular speaker whose presentations frequently draw sold-out crowds, making this a special opportunity for area residents to hear her presentation locally.

An evening designed for the community

“Our History, Our Future” is being presented as more than a traditional annual meeting. The evening is designed to bring members and non-members together to connect, share a meal, learn more about the work of the Pulaski Area Historical Society and celebrate those who help preserve local history.

The event is open to both PAHS members and non-members.

Admission is $20 for PAHS members and $25 for non-members, which includes a light buffet, Lynda Drews’ presentation, PAHS updates, Board Election and Historic Preservation Award presentation.

Registration required

Advance registration is required, and space is limited. Because seating and food must be arranged in advance, attendees are encouraged to register early. Drews’ speaking events often sell out.

There are three ways to register:
