Career highlight: Winning my first multi-day tournament last year at the Dells Junior Championship shooting a 66 and going -5 on the last seven holes.

At what age did you start playing your main sport?

I began playing golf when I was five years old.

Who introduced you to the sport?

My dad has played golf most of his life and when I was young he would bring me to the range and we would go play nine holes.

Has this always been your favorite sport?

I used to be a basketball player until I stopped playing in seventh grade.

How has balancing academics and athletics been different for you from your freshman year to your senior year?

It was difficult as a freshman getting used to missing a ton of school and having to make up your work. It made me realize that time management is very important with a very busy lifestyle. I got better each year with how I balanced my day with school, work and golf.

What is your favorite part about this sport? What about it has caused you to stick with it for this long?

I like how there is a new challenge every single shot in golf. The chances of hitting the same exact shot multiple times is highly unlikely. It also challenges me mentally to stay focused even when things are not going as planned, but you must stay in a good mindset if you want to be great.

Is there a professional athlete you look up to? If so, who?

Jordan Spieth.

What would you say is your biggest asset on the course?

The best part of my game is my ball striking. I usually hit a lot of greens, setting me up for a lot of birdie putts.

What has been your most memorable experience in high school sports so far?

Taking third place at state as a team my junior season.

How does it feel as a senior, to look back throughout high school and see your growth (as a person and athlete)?

The time flew by. Not too long ago did it seem I was teeing it up in my first high school event.

Do you take any extra steps to prepare for a big match/game/meet, outside of regular practices?

A lot of the time the day before a tournament I will go out to the course later in the day and get a couple hours of practice by myself or with a buddy.

Any memorable coaches or teammates you’d like to give a shout out to?

My high school golf coach the last two years Derek Wathke. Also my swing coach Brent Snyder.

Any hobbies outside of sports?

Basketball and being with friends.

Favorite song?

I mostly listen to golf podcasts: “Subpar,” and “No Laying Up.”

Sports drinks like Gatorade and Powerade or water?

Mostly drink water.

What is a fun fact about yourself?

I have two dogs named bogey and birdie

Future Plans? (college, major, career, etc.)

I am attending UW-Green Bay this fall to study business management and I will also be playing on the golf team there.
