This week will bring the second concert in the 2026 Levitt AMP Green Bay Music Series, an opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy free live music while also transforming underused public spaces into thriving community destinations.
The concert series began May 31 and will continue each week through Aug. 9.
The June 7 concert will take place at Leicht Park from 4-6:30 p.m. featuring headliner Blackcat Zydeco feat. Dwight Carrier and opener Valley Fox.

How would you describe your music?
Dwight’s father introduced him to the soulful rhythms of Zydeco, a genre bursting with energy and deeply tied to Creole culture. It’s the mixture of the Zydeco beat with blues, R&B, and soul music that tells the stories of the trials and tribulations of life in SW Louisiana.
What inspires you to create music?
The rhythms, melodies, and cultural significance of Zydeco has to be passed down. I began teaching my younger cousins, family friends, and anyone eager to learn about the music and culture of southwest Louisiana. This is my inspiration to make sure Zydeco music does not die.
What is your favorite part of performing live?
Seats filled with generations of families, moving to the Zydeco beat. See the joy that the music brings to the fans and attendees.
What are you most looking forward to audiences hearing/experiencing at your concert?
It’s about understanding the stories within the music — the tales of joy, struggle, and celebration that Creole Zydeco encapsulates. By sharing these stories, I hope to instill pride in our heritage and to inspire others to carry the torch of Creole identity and to educate all about my Creole culture wherever the music takes me.
How would you describe your music?
Blurred lines between bluegrass, folk and country music with a main focus on vocal harmonies and songwriting. We mix in gritty string music with our trio of acoustic guitar, mandolin and upright bass.
What inspires you to create music?
We are songwriters first and foremost, the need to put thoughts and emotions on paper is what drives us. Then weaving those thoughts and emotions into words and catchy melodies is the most rewarding thing in the world to us.
What is your favorite part of performing live?
We love connecting with each other on stage and feeling that connection make its way to the audience and back to us. When everyone in the room is involved it makes for a genuinely intimate experience that you can’t get anywhere else.
What are you most looking forward to audiences hearing/experiencing at your concert?
New songs! We are always writing and trying out new music.
