Green Bay Southwest and De Pere both picked up their first wins of the season in Week 4.
After losing its opening two games, Notre Dame Academy has won two straight games.
Here is a breakdown of all the area games from Sept. 9.
Green Bay Southwest 35, Green Bay Preble 19
The Southwest offense finally had a breakout game.
The Trojans racked up 383 yards of total offense and went on to beat rival Preble, 35-19, in a Fox River Classic Conference-North game.
Southwest came into the game averaging just 6.7 points per game through Week 3.
“It feels good to pick up our first win of the year,” Southwest co-head coach Aaron Van Eperen said. “We had a lot of players step up throughout the week and take on leadership roles to get us back on track and this win is a credit to the work they did. We were able to control the game through the run game with Jacob Hanson and Mason Meyer, but really it starts up front with the linemen. Defensively, we did
a nice job marching up with them and forcing turnovers.
“I appreciate the effort of our entire coaching staff and roster to get the win.”
Hanson was dynamic, rushing for career highs in yards (196), carries (38) and touchdowns (three).
Meyer, the Trojans’ quarterback, added 59 yards on the ground as the team had 256 yards rushing.
Meyer was 9-for-25 passing for 127 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also threw three interceptions.
Connor Pytleski was Southwest’s leading receiver with five catches for 82 yards and two scores.
Southwest (1-3, 1-1 FRCC) led 21-7 at halftime, but Preble (0-4, 0-2 FRCC) cut its deficit to 21-13 after three quarters. The Trojans outscored the host Hornets 14-6 in the final 12 minutes.
Stats for Preble weren’t available.
De Pere 47, Green Bay East 0
They say getting the first one is always the toughest.
New De Pere football coach Ben Strickland can now breathe a sigh of relief after picking up his first career win.
De Pere built a 41-0 lead at halftime and cruised in the second half to a 47-0 victory over host Green Bay East.
The Redbirds (1-3, 1-1 FRCC) got first-quarter touchdown runs from Easton Arendt (8 yards), Lucas Koskey (1 yard) and Devin Koskey (2 yards) to go up 20-0.
Arendt threw a pair of second-quarter TDs to Noah Gehin (9 yards) and Hayden May (20 yards).
Lucas Koskey (7 yards) and Michael Alexander (13 yards) run in the final two touchdowns of the game.
Arendt finished 7-for-8 passing for 86 yards and two touchdowns. He also had a team-leading 58 yards on five carries and one score.
Gehin, a North Dakota commit, put up a season-high four catches for 60 yards and one touchdown.
Stats for East (0-4, 0-2 FRCC) weren’t available.
Notre Dame Academy 48, Sheboygan South 0
After dropping its first two games of the season, Notre Dame Academy has started a winning streak.
The Tritons racked up 284 yards on the ground in dominating host Sheboygan South, 48-0.
Ian Blom had a record-setting day with 29 carries for 170 yards and four touchdowns. Christian Collins added 93 yards rushing and a pair of scores.
Quarterback Joe Otradovec was 7-for-10 for 83 yards and one touchdown. That scored went to Ethan Wall-Atim, who had three receptions for 58 yards.
Notre Dame (2-2, 2-0 FRCC) led 27-0 at halftime and 41-0 after three quarters.
Menasha 73, Green Bay West 0
Looking for its first win of the season, Green Bay West knew it wasn’t going to be easy against Menasha,
which is ranked No. 4 in Division 3 in the latest WisSports.net Coaches Poll.
Menasha put up 59 first-half points en route to a 73-0 victory at home.
West (0-4, 0-2 FRCC) had just eight total yards.
Menasha, one of the frontrunners to win the D-3 state title, was tough to stop through the air. AJ Korth was 16-for-22 for 152 yards and five touchdowns.
Freedom 47, Seymour 0
New Seymour coach Jason Bins is still searching for his first career victory.
Seymour could only muster 44 total yards as Freedom built a 47-0 lead in the first half. That’s how it ended in Freedom.
Cayden Staffeldt was 6-for-17 passing for 30 yards. Keanu Chinana had four catches four 28 yards.
Wausaukee 26, N.E.W. Lutheran United 20
The United got so close to tasting their first victory of the season.
A fourth-quarter rally fell shot, though as Wausaukee scored a 26-20 victory in Peninsula Conference action.
Reid Nelson had a nice game behind center for the United. He was 8-for-11 for 89 yards.
Evander Danforth had 49 yards rushing and 35 yards rushing and a touchdown. Bryce Liebzeit added 85 yards rushing on just 10 carries and one score.
