Booyah fall in rain-shortened game

WAUSAU – The Green Bay Booyah fell to the Wisconsin Woodchucks in a rain-shortened game June 28 in Wausau, 3-1.

The Booyah trailed after an inning of play, 1-0, and trailed after three innings when the rain picked up.

The tarp was pulled on the field and play was stopped for nearly two and a half hours.

After the delay, the Green Bay bats woke up a bit as Kaden Hollow (Dixie State) collected his 14th RBI of the season after driving in Dalton Pearson (Georgia State) to tie the game 1-1.

The Booyah gave up two in the bottom of the fourth inning and were unable to respond in the top of the fifth.

At that point, the rain picked up again, and the umpires deemed the field unsafe to play and called the game.

With the loss, Green Bay fell to 0-5 on the season against the Woodchucks.

The teams will battle again tonight, June 29, at Capital Credit Union Park at 6:35 p.m.

Fans in attendance at Tuesday’s game may enjoy a free 24 oz. fountain Pepsi product per person between the time gates open and first pitch.

Gates will open at 5:35 p.m.
