Buboltz currently plays on the West De Pere softball team.

The Phantoms went 36-9 during her freshman and sophomore campaigns before the COVID-19 pandemic wiped out the 2020 season.

While playing basketball at West De Pere, Buboltz and her teammates won three Bay Conference championships.

The Phantoms have had successful seasons with you playing. What do you attribute to the team’s success?

“Team camaraderie.”

What are your goals for the 2021 season?

“Win conference and state.”

Who’s the toughest opponent you’ve faced?

“The Crush.”

What’s your most embarrassing softball moment?

“My sophomore year in a game versus Shawano, I hit a ball to right-center. I was rounding second to go to third. Out of nowhere, I tripped over absolutely nothing and face planted in the sand.”

Talk about Coach Jennifer Timm.

“I’ve known coach for a long time. She used to come to my house because she was in the same grade as my oldest brother, Jacob. She was nice to me and was willing to talk to me in the fifth grade. Now that she’s my coach, our relationship has gotten stronger. She counts on me to be a senior leader and include everyone. She cares for everyone and has a strong passion for helping girls to become the best version of themselves, on and off the field. She wants what’s best for us and prepares us for our future lives.”

What’s the hardest part about playing softball?

“Waiting on a changeup.”

If you could be somebody for a day, who would it be?

“Carroll Shelby.”

Would you rather be able to pitch 70 mph consistently or hit a 250-foot blast once in your lifetime?  

“Pitch 70 mph consistently.”

Celebrity crush?

“Niall Horan.”

What’s something about you most people don’t know?

“I’ve played piano since I was a kindergartener.”

Do you have a ritual before a game?

“I get dressed in the same order.”

What’s the best softball field you’ve played on?

“St. Norbert College. They have a nice turf infield with clean dugouts and a good warning track.”

What are your college aspirations?

“I plan on earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Later, I desire to go back to school to earn a master or doctorate to become a nurse practitioner or nurse anesthetist.”

Where would you like to live after college?

“Wyoming, Colorado or Montana.”

What are your hobbies?

“Snowmobiling, snowboarding, wakeboarding, water skiing, boating, jet skiing, biking, working out and spending time with family and friends.”

What four words describe you?

“Hardworking, altruistic, empathetic, determined.”

The coast or the mountains?

“The mountains.”

If you didn’t play softball, what other sport could you have excelled in?

“Soccer.”

How do you want to be remembered at West De Pere?

“As someone who people can look up to and count on for anything in life, now and beyond high school.”

Favorite sound of spring?

“Hearing the birds chirp.”

Biggest sports achievement?

“Through 11 sports seasons, I have 11 varsity letters.”

Do you have plans to continue playing softball after high school?

“I may join a club team in college.”

Tea or lemonade?

“(Iced) Tea.”

Three cities you’d like to visit?

“Victoria (Seychelles), Tromso (Norway), Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe).”

Where do you see yourself in 20 years?

“I see myself settled down in a country home with a big yard.”
