Booyah pick up road win in Wausau

WAUSAU – The Green Bay Booyah grabbed a 4-3 Northwoods League victory July 15 over the Wisconsin Woodchucks in Wausau.

Green Bay improved to 7-8 on the season after getting two big insurance runs during the ninth inning.

With a 2-1 lead heading into the ninth, Alec Burns led off the inning with a double off the center-field wall.

Later, Matt McDonald picked up his second hit of the day when he doubled down the left-field line,
scoring Burns.

With two outs, Chris Seng singled into right and McDonald scored the game-winning run.

On the mound, Logan Lee went four innings, striking out four and allowing one run.

Out of the bullpen, Jack Sauser earned the win, completing two innings and getting his first victory
of the season.

Chris Jefferson and Joe Taylor combined for two scoreless frames in the seventh and eighth innings.

Chandler Ingram earned the save after giving up two runs in the ninth.

The Booyah and the Woodchucks play again Thursday, July 16, at Capital Credit Union Park.

First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m., with right-hander Garrett Martin taking the mound for the third time this season.
