Booyah sign pair of Mountaineers for 2020

ASHWAUBENON – The Green Bay Booyah Baseball Club recently announced the signing of two West Virginia University (WVU) players, Tevin Tucker and Alec Burns, for the 2020 season.

The pair will join pitchers Chandler Ingram, Logan Lee, Jacob Paulishak, Dalton Wiggins and infielder Zack Raabe as signees for the second season at Capital Credit Union Park in Ashwaubenon.

The Booyah will host the Kokomo Jackrabbits Thursday, May 28, at 6:35 p.m.

Tevin Tucker

Tucker, a sophomore infielder, joins the Booyah to help play alongside returner Zack Raabe.

As a freshman at WVU, Tucker swatted 10 doubles and had an on-base percentage of .365.

He also swiped 19 bags during his freshman campaign and drove in 21 runs.

This spring, Tucker, a shortstop for the Mountaineers, started all 16 games while stealing seven bases in eight attempts.

He was batting .170 (8-for-47) before the Mountaineers’ season was ended due to fears of COVID-19.

Coming out of high school, Tucker was ranked as the No. 2 shortstop in Virginia.

Green Bay also signed 6-foot-4 first baseman and outfielder, Alec Burns.

Alec Burns

Burns, a redshirt freshman, appeared in 10 games this spring while posting a .167 batting average (2-for-12).

Last summer for the Adirondack Trail Blazers, Burns hit .292 with three home runs and 15 RBI in 34 games.

Five-game memberships, season-ticket packages and group tickets are now on sale for Booyah games.

Single-game tickets go on sale Friday, April 17.
