East to host Silent Night event Feb. 1

GREEN BAY – Green Bay East High School will host the eighth annual Silent Night event Saturday, Feb. 1, in an effort to support homeless and unaccompanied youth in the Green Bay area.

Silent Night will feature the East boys’ and girls’ basketball teams hosting Green Bay West High School.

As is tradition, the audience will remain silent until the 10th point is scored to raise awareness for the homeless.

The event begins at 5 p.m. with the start of the girls’ game, followed by the boys’ game at 7.

Additionally, there will be raffles, a silent auction, a wing-eating contest, a costume contest, music and more.

Admission is free with the donation of two non-perishable food items.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Jack Washington Wonderful World Fund, Eats for East and the East Caring Closet, all programs that support students and families in the Green Bay community.

For those who can’t attend the event, a brat fry will be held in the East gym Friday, Jan. 31, from 4-7 p.m.

East High School is located at 1415 E. Walnut St.
