Tell me about your family.

“I have an older sister named Brianna who is currently attending UW-Green Bay studying to be a teacher, my mom was born in Nebraska and my dad is from Green Bay.”

Do you come from a sports family?

“Brianna played volleyball, my mom did volleyball, basketball and soccer and my dad played football, baseball and basketball.”

Did you ever try other sports at Bay Port?

“I played soccer my freshman year and ran track my sophomore year.”

Is there one you wish you had done?

“Basketball, because I’m tall [5-foot-11] but I didn’t start young enough.”

Does the thought cross your mind to join this year and maybe be a part of another state championship?

“It would be cool, but I’m too far behind – it’s a talented group.”

What’s it like playing volleyball for head coach Thiago Barbosa?

“He pushes us hard, is not afraid to call us out if we make a mistake and puts a lot of time into our team to make us the best possible. I respond well to this type of coaching.”

Is this Bay Port’s best chance to win a Fox River Classic Conference championship?

“The season has been going well, and a lot of the girls put in time over the summer. We have two goals – win a conference championship and go beyond that.”

Can you make it to the state tournament at the Resch Center in Green Bay?

“I definitely think we can. We have six seniors on the team, and we all want the same goal.”

Do you have a most memorable volleyball moment?

“Playing with my sister Brianna when I was a sophomore and she was a senior – it was really cool.”

Do you have an embarrassing moment?

“I’m very embarrassing. Last season playing against Notre Dame [Academy], a ball was coming at my face, and I punched it at the last second.”

Do you have a favorite family vacation?

“When I went to South Dakota and Mexico. In South Dakota, I saw Mt. Rushmore and went to Jewel Cave and Bear Country USA. In Mexico, I went scuba diving and swam with dolphins.”

What is your favorite state?

“Florida, because I like beaches and warmth.”

Do you see yourself staying in the Midwest after graduation?

“I see myself spreading my wings and exploring other areas because I am independent, but I also see myself checking in and not straying too far from home.”

Is there something about you most people wouldn’t know?

“When I was younger, my ear ripped from my earing, so I had to get plastic surgery to repair it. There is a little scar. It was when I was playing sand volleyball, and it didn’t heal properly.”

What three words describe you?

“Hard-working, empathetic, determined.”

What are two things you’ll miss about Bay Port?

“The people – it’s scary knowing I won’t see many of my friends after graduation. I will also miss the teachers – they are very nice.”

How will you be remembered at Bay Port?

“Hopefully, as a role model others looked up to – I’m caring, positive and nice.”
