GREEN BAY – STEM Family Day was held at STEM — Science – Technology – Engineering – Math — Innovation Center at UW-Green Bay on Saturday, April 27, hosted by Brown County, the Einstein Project and the UW-Green Bay Richard J. Resch School of Engineering.

The day was sponsored by several community businesses, with hands-on activities by area nonprofits, UW-Green Bay clubs, local museums and other local organizations.

“We’ve got about 40 different activities that are all around the building. We hopefully are getting kids interested in science, technology, engineering, and math,” Elizabeth Mayenschein, from the Einstein Project, said during the event.

“For over three decades, the Einstein Project has provided leadership in transformational change in STEM education in Wisconsin. Our support for teachers and schools starts with high-quality, hands-on instructional materials,” the group’s website states.

“We provide science kits to teachers in their classrooms to help get hands-on engaging science into the classroom so that kids get interested in it,” Mayenschein added.

The event gave kids and adults alike the opportunity to immerse themselves in hands-on STEM activities.

Events like these not only inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers and innovators but also strengthen the community’s commitment to advancing STEM education and promoting curiosity-driven learning.
