DE PERE – The De Pere Redbirds and Notre Dame (NDA) Tritons boys tennis teams opened their official Fox River Classic Conference (FRCC) seasons on Tuesday, April 16 with their first in conference matches of 2024.

Despite poor weather conditions, the Tritons bested the Redbirds with a final team score of 6-1.

Notre Dame’s Alex Thomas won his match for No. 1 singles with a final score of 6-2, 6-3.

Nicholas Shere suffered a tough loss for De Pere at No. 2 singles to NDA’s Ethan Heijny.

After these first conference matches and preseason invitational tournaments played the previous two weekends, this brings the Tritons to an early record of 7-1 while the Redbirds retain a record of 1-10.

Notre Dame will participate in the Western Racquet Tournament on April 19-20 while De Pere prepares to host the De Pere High Invitational Tournament April 19-20.

Redbird senior Stefen Graf plays at No. 1 singles for De Pere.
