GREEN BAY – The Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association (WBCA) recently announced their preseason baseball rankings for the state of Wisconsin.
De Pere
For Division 1, the De Pere Redbirds are ranked No. 1, followed by Oak Creek in second and Kimberly in third.
De Pere wrapped up their 2023 season with an overall record of 22-8 and 14-4 in the Fox River Classic Conference (FRCC).
After beating Bay Port 3-1 in their WIAA Regional Final game, the Red Birds advanced to beat Kimberly 5-3 in the WIAA Sectional before their 0-10 loss to Hortonville in the WIAA Sectional Final.
They concluded their season with 124 runs for and 54 against on the season.
Bay Port
The WBCA ranked Bay Port seventh in the Division 1 bracket.
Bay Port finished their season with an overall record of 18-7 overall and 14-4 in the FRCC, taking first place in the FRCC rankings before losing their final game of the season 1-3 to the De Pere Red Birds in the WIAA Regional Final.
On the season the Pirates allowed only 61 runs while tacking up 147 runs for themselves.
Notre Dame Academy
For the Division 2 rankings, the WBCA placed the Notre Dame Academy Tritons No. 11.
The Tritons finished their 2023 season with a winning record of 17-11 overall and 10-8 in conference, taking fifth place in the FRCC.
They had 123 runs on the season and allowed 89 runs.
Their final game of the season was a 4-5 loss to Denmark in the WIAA Sectional Final game.
