My dad was very influential on the start of my baseball career.

How has balancing academics and athletics been different for you from freshman to senior year?

Freshman year, my workload was much less than senior year. Over time, I have learned how to put time away for school with a crazy athletic schedule. It was definitely hard but worth it in the end

What is the best part about competing?

I love the thrill and excitement of competition. I have a desire to win, and that’s what I strive for in every competition.

Is there a favorite drill in practice that you enjoy doing?

I love taking infield practice because it is different every time. No ground ball is ever the same.

What is your favorite part about being on a team/participating in a team sport?

I enjoy being around friends and teammates, especially when you see the hard work everyone puts in start to pay off.

Has there been an individual (parent/athlete/coach) who played a role in shaping the athlete you’ve become today?

My dad has definitely been one of the most influential people to me. He has pushed me in every aspect of my life, especially in sports.

What is the most challenging aspect of athletics?

The hardest aspect of athletics for me is trusting myself and my process. When things get hard, I tend to try to find solutions by changing what I’m doing when in reality, I need to stick to my process.

Being a senior, describe some leadership roles that come into play.

I am a team captain this year, and we have a lot of young guys in the program. Even though it is my last year, I try to be a role model for the underclassmen.

What are your goals for this upcoming season?

My goals are to win the conference for the third year in a row and make a deep run into the playoffs.

Favorite collegiate or professional sports team?

My favorite baseball team is the Chicago Cubs

What is your favorite sports quote?

“I have failed over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” -Michael Jordan

How does athletics make you a better student/worker/person?

Athletics have taught me lessons that I have taken into my life. I learned responsibility, work ethic, respect, and more, all of which I have applied to my school and social life.

Are there any memorable coaches or teammates you would like to give a shout-out to?

Coach Krueger and Coach Tomashek are two coaches who have helped shape me as an athlete and human.

What are your plans for the future (college/major/career)?

I will be attending Creighton University to play baseball and study finance on a financial planning track

Any advice you would give to your younger self?

I would tell my younger self to appreciate every moment on the baseball field and treat it as if it could be your last.
