Who first introduced you to basketball?

In 3rd grade, my friends and I all started playing for Seymour futures. Up until then, I had played soccer for the Hurricanes and danced. I stepped away from dance to play AAU in 5th grade and I’ve played AAU basketball and club soccer ever since

What made you fall in love with it?

In elementary school, I started to hang out in the gym everyday after school and had fun with it. I had great experiences at state tournaments, two birthday parties at SNC and the Driveway throughout middle school. It was fun and I made some great friendships with teammates throughout the years.

How has it been adjusting from being an underclassmen to your senior status now?

It’s been an adjustment going from having a strong team with senior leaders last year to now taking on a leadership role myself. We have a handful of girls who stepped away and came back which is great, so I’m trying to have fun with them while still competing at a high level.

Would you say you prefer conditioning or strength training better?

I took an elective strength training class this year as a senior, so I would say I definitely prefer strength.

What is a specific activity or drill in practice that you enjoy doing?

I really like the 11 Man because everyone is involved and you could go for super long with no breaks which is great for conditioning.

Is there a professional or collegiate athlete that you’ve been inspired by?

Alex Morgan has always inspired me with her work ethic and she has a great name. I saw Hope Solo’s 1000th game in person, that was cool.

What is your pregame/pre meet ritual?

Carrots and celery always!! Also listening to Taylor Swift throughout the day gets me in a good mood.

Favorite collegiate or professional sports team?

The Bucks or The US Women’s soccer team.

Any memorable coaches or teammates that you would like to give a shout out to?

I’ve been blessed to have a lot of great coaches. Harry and Maddie Boyce have always been there and have become family, if I need anything they got me. I also want to give shoutouts to all of my basketball and soccer coaches through the years—without them, I wouldn’t be the person I am today.

Do you have any hobbies outside of sports?

I am a three sport athlete so I don’t have much time for a lot else. I like to go to concerts, sporting events, and put Lego botanical sets together. I enjoy going up north and hanging out at the lake. I also love being outside.

What are your plans for the future (college/major/career)?

I am committed to attending Ripon College to study exercise science and play soccer. My career goal is to be an athletic trainer.

Any advice you would give to the younger generation of athletes?

Don’t get down on yourself for plays that you mess up on. You never know who is watching, be the best you can be.
