GREEN BAY – After a successful 2023 season where the Green Bay Rockers took home the Northwoods League Championship title, the team has recently been awarded another prestigious title amid the offseason — Northwoods League 2023 Organization of the Year.

“We are honored to be recognized as the Northwoods League Organization of the Year after a record-setting season,” said Rockers Vice President and General Manager John Fanta.

The annual fall League Meetings was held last week in Minnesota, where the award was presented to the team in recognition of their efforts this past season.

The honor of this award follows the team’s best season on record in their 17-year history. The team won their first Summer Collegiate World Series Championship over the summer after placing first overall in the Great Lakes West conference with a record of 41-31 on the season, and 4-0 in postseason play.

However, the team would not have seen the same level of success if not for their dedicated Green Bay fanbase. Over the course of the 2023 season, the team saw a total of 54,271 fans in attendance at their home games at Capital Credit Union Park.

Upon receiving the honor, the team was rewarded for the pleasurable experience they brought to these fans through special promotions to enhance their experience, such as improvements to their video replay screen in the outfield, the continued implementation of live music at each home game and local partnerships to broaden fan experience at the concession stands.

With a strong focus on the community, the organization also worked to give back to local charities throughout the season with auctions, promotions, fundraisers and raffles at a variety of home games over the summer.

“I can’t thank our ownership, front office, seasonal staff, host families, coaches, players, business and community partners and our fans for their dedication to the Rockers to make this an unforgettable year on and off the field,” said Fanta. “Our goal has been to make Capital Credit Union Park a place to bring the community together year-round and this award reaffirms that the Rockers brand of affordable fun is resonating in the Greater Green Bay area.”
