Who first introduced you to your sport?

My dad encouraged me to play soccer and at one point he was even my coach.

What was your favorite and least favorite part about your sport?

My favorite part is the adrenaline that comes with every game. My least favorite part is losses and ties.

How has balancing academics and athletics been different for you from your freshman year to your senior year?

As a freshman it was hard to get used to juggling school and soccer, but as the years went on I have been able to establish a good routine.

What has been the most important aspect of your training well preparing for your senior season?

I think the determination and discipline is what you need to push yourself through a productive off-season.

What, to you, is the most challenging aspect of your sport?

The mental aspect of soccer is the most difficult aspect, to me the best players are the smartest players.

What is the best advice you have ever gotten from a coach or parent about your sport?

If you think you’re ready, you’re not working hard enough.

What has been your most memorable experience in high school sports so far?

Going to an invitational tournament in Iowa last year, where our team played extremely well.

What is one thing that your sport has taught you that you don’t think you would have been able to learn anywhere else?

Mental toughness — as a defender it is so important to be able to keep your composure mentally. If it weren’t for soccer I wouldn’t have learned to just play my game.

Would you prefer to perform in extreme cold or extreme heat?

Definitely extreme cold — I can’t stand the heat!

What are you most excited for with your senior season?

I am excited to build relationships with the younger players on our team like I had when I was a freshman or sophomore.

Are you involved in any extracurricular activities outside of sports?

I participate in a few clubs at school. I also serve on the student government at Notre Dame.

Favorite pre-game snack?

I always have my energy drink or pre-workout before a game.

Any rituals or superstitions when it comes to your sport?

I have to put my right sock on before I put on my left sock.

What are your plans for the future?

I plan to go into the medical field. My plan is to go into pre-dental at a four year university.
