GREEN BAY – Halle Dessart, a senior at Green Bay Preble High School, was presented with the 2023 $10,000 Brian LaViolette Scholarship.

The annual scholarship is designed to offer a student with the “inspiration to succeed with financial backing toward higher education.”

Halle was recently surprised with the award by representatives of the Brian LaViolette Scholarship Foundation, school administrators and educators and Partners in Education of the Greater Green Bay Chamber, which administers the scholarship.

Halle will be attending the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire to pursue a degree in education with the goal of teaching middle and high school.

The Brian LaViolette Scholarship recognizes a student who has shown “exemplary achievement” throughout his or her high school career.

“Recipients are students who have a thirst for knowledge, the ability to be a team player and the desire to be a future leader — all aspects of life that were important to Brian LaViolette while he was growing up and attending school at De Pere,” a foundation release stated.
