BROWN COUNTY – On June 7, Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach and Brown County Parks Director Matt Kriese hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil the new playground equipment at the county’s Pamperin Park.

The new equipment replaces a 20-year-old wooden playground structure and includes adaptive equipment.

“For the first time in 23 years, Brown County’s Pamperin Park features a new playground designed with the community in mind,” a release from Brown County stated.

“Following community input sessions that included taking input from local school children, the former outdated wooden structure now features a revitalized area with improved play equipment including separate age-appropriate play pieces, inclusivity for all and improved safety elements such as rubberized landing surfaces.”

The project was funded with $434,000 in Brown County sales tax, with funding from Green Bay Packaging Inc.’s George Kress Foundation.

“We are beyond excited to introduce the newly developed playground for our community,” said Kriese. “This new playground is much more than a structure, rather it is a place where our kids are encouraged to move and explore, develop character, forget about stress and stimulate all senses while having fun.”

The new playground includes: two 12-foot slides and one 14-foot free-standing web climber; an eight-swing bay with a disc swing, belt swings, tot swing, two-seat play share swing and one adaptive swing; an inclusive merry-go-round; a Trans-Glide; and a Spinmax Pod

Pamperin Park is located at 2801 County Rd. RK, Green Bay.
