Kinziger hits 2,000-point mark

De Pere’s John Kinziger has added another notch on his lengthy basketball resume.
The senior scored his 2,000th career point on Friday night as No. 1-ranked De Pere downed No. 5-ranked Sheboygan North, 69-42.
Kinziger is just the 49th boys’ basketball player in state history to hit that milestone and just the sixth Division 1 player.
Kinziger, who is headed to Illinois State next year, is the leading scorer for the Redbirds, which improved to 23-0. He finished the game with 16 points.
