Handful of area incumbents lose reelection bids

BROWN COUNTY – The Green Bay City Council has been decided and it includes a few new faces.

Following an unprecedented amount of outside special interest money flooding the area leading in the weeks leading up to the election.

In all, five of Green Bay’s 12 aldermanic districts will have new representation.

Two incumbents running for reelection – Barbara Dorff (District 1) and Lynn Gerlach (District 3) – were ousted by challengers Jennifer Grant and Bill Morgan respectively.

Incumbents Bill Galvin, Craig Stevens, Randy Scannell, Brian Johnson and Mark Steuer beat out challengers for another two-year term.

Jim Hutchison garnered more votes than Andy Nicholson in District 2.

District 6 residents chose Steve Campell as their alderperson over Aron Obrecht.

And Melinda Eck beat out Michael Poradek for the District 11 seat.

All remaining incumbents ran unopposed.

District 6

• Aron Obrecht – 299 (48.94%)

• Steven Campbell – 310 (50.74%)

District 7

• Randy Scannell – 354 (58.13%)

• Robert J. Miller – 252 (41.38%)

District 9

• Brian Johnson – 576 (65.31%)

• Tarl Knight – 300 (34.01%)

District 10

• Mark Steuer – 617 (61.15%)

• Melinda Eck – 673 (54.32%)

De Pere

It’s out with the old, in with the new in the City of De Pere.

Both incumbents up for reelection – Kelly Ruh (District 2) and Mike Eserkaln (District 3) were beat out by challengers Pamela Gantz (District 2) and Devin Perock (District 3).

All remaining incumbents ran unopposed.

District 2

• Pamela Gantz – 570 (55.77%)

• Kelly Ruh – 452 (44.23%)

District 3

• Devin Perock – 320 (60.26%)

• Mike Eserkaln – 210 (39.55%)

Brown County Board

The Brown County Board of Supervisors will have a few new faces following the April 5 decisions.

Two incumbents lost their bids for reelection.

District 3 challenger Andy Nicholson (607, 53.06%) beat out incumbent Amanda Chu (533, 46.59%) for the seat she won over him in the 2020 election.

Challenger Morgan Fuller (584, 52.71%) ousted incumbent Jim Murphy (521, 47.02%) for a two-year term for District 15.

The remaining incumbents who faced challengers in the April 5 election – Tom Peters, Devon Coenen, Megan Borchardt, Tom Friberg,  Kathy  Lefebvre and Tom De Wane – were all reelected.

All remaining incumbents ran unopposed.

District 2

• Rachel Maes – 744 (38.61%)

• Thomas J De Wane – 1,179 (61.18%)

District 4

District 5

• Liv Miller – 327 (39.26%)

• Daniel Theno – 500 (60.02%)

District 6

• Kathy Lefebvre – 325 (51.02%)

• Steve Campbell – 312 (48.98%)

District 7

• Leanne Cramer – 363 (37.15%)

• Tom Friberg – 610 (62.44%)

District 8

• Megan Borchardt – 716 (75.13%)

• Kimber Rollin – 231 (24.24%)

District 19

• Mike LaBouve’ – 769 (43.06%)

• Jessica L Adams – 1,016 (56.89%)

District 20

• Devon Coenen – 863 (57.53%)

• Mark Berndt – 637 (42.47%)

District 22

• Tom Peters – 1,019 (64.86%)

• Ken Mika – 549 (34.95%)

Howard-Suamico School Board

Two of the three incumbents lost their bids for election to the Howard-Suamico School Board.

The top three vote-getters who earned a seat on the board include incumbent Scott Jandrin (2,561, 19.01%) and newcomers Amy Rubright (2,480, 18.41%) and Allen McGuire (2,477, 18.39%).

Incumbents Teresa M Ford (1,994, 14.80%) and Jason Potts (1,952, 14.49%) and newcomer Michael Moran (1,966, 14.59%) came in as the bottom three vote-getters.

• Bob Mathews – 1,685 (17.03%)
