Three St. Norbert men’s hockey players earn NCHA awards

DE PERE – The St. Norbert College men’s hockey team had three players named to Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) honor squads.

Peter Bates was named the NCHA Player of the Year for the second time and was an All-NCHA honoree.

Peyton Frantti was also named to the All-NCHA team for the second time.

Liam Fraser was named the NCHA Freshman of the Year and was selected to the All-Freshman Team.

Bates, an Evanston, Illinois, native, earned NCHA Player of the Year honors in 2020 as well.

Bates is the second St. Norbert player to be named NCHA Player of the Year twice, joining Kyle Jones’ honors in 2006 and 2008.

To go along with his 28 goals, he has 30 assists for 58 points.

Frantti, a Spring Grove, Illinois, native, has 16 goals and 29 assists for 45 points.

Fraser, a Calgary, Alberta, Canada, native, has 24 goals and 23 assists for 47 points, a St. Norbert freshman scoring record.
