Not all of Brown County will have primaries Feb. 15

BROWN COUNTY – Depending on where in the county voters reside, there may or may not be a primary for them to vote in Tuesday, Feb. 15.

There are no statewide or countywide primaries, so whether or not a given polling location will be open depends on whether there is a locally-based primary.

For example, the Village of Hobart’s two polling locations at St. Joseph’s Church and D2 Sports Pub will both be open with primaries on the ballot for the school boards in the West De Pere and Pulaski districts.

In the Village of Ashwaubenon, however, only voters in Wards 11 and 12 who live in the West De Pere School District cast primary ballots at the Ashwaubenon SChool District Office’s polling site.

With the six-person race for two school board seats in West De Pere, the City of De Pere, which has no municipal primaries, will have two polling places open for Wards 10-16 (De Pere Community Center) and 17-23 (St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church).

Town of Lawrence voters who live in the West De Pere School District will be able to cast primary ballots at the Town Hall.

Voters in the Howard-Suamico School District can head to the polls to select up to three candidates in a nine-person field.

The pool be reduced to six for the April 5 general election.

Pulaski School District voters will be voting in the primary for one of three candidates running for the Zone 1 seat representing the Village of Pulaski, for which the top two advance to the general election.

In the City of Green Bay, three of the 12 alderperson seats up for election this spring have primaries, and there will be three primaries in the city for county supervisor, resulting in only the polling locations for Wards 6, 7, 8, 10, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 37 and 38 being open.

The specific polling locations are listed on the city’s website.
