Area teams have strong showing at Pulaski Wrestling Invitational

PULASKI – Four area wrestling teams – Bay Port, Pulaski, Seymour and West De Pere – competed in the Pulaski Invitational Saturday, Jan. 29.

A total of 16 teams competed.

Pulaski finished fourth with 156 points, while Bay Port (seventh, 110), West De Pere (ninth, 94.5) and Seymour (14th, 47) also had strong individual showings.

Kaukauna (224), Coleman (196.5) and Luxemburg-Casco (179) took home the top three places in the team competition.

Local champions included Bay Port’s Jacob Ward at 152, Pulaski’s Trenton Gibbons at 182 and Mason Wells at 220.

Runner-up finishes went to Ethan Eggert (Pulaski, 113), Tristan Taylor (Pulaski, 160), Spencer Francois (West De Pere, 195) and Vaughn Campbell (Bay Port 285).

Third-place finishes included Own Wathke (Bay Port, 106), Owen Noel (Bay Port, 126), Ryan Tomazevic (Seymour, 138) and Ayden Bruckner (Bay Port, 160).
