Green Bay Rockers announce 2022 schedule

ASHWAUBENON – The Northwoods League (NWL) recently released its schedule for the 2022 season.

The Green Bay Rockers are slated to play 72 regular-season games next summer, half of them at home.

Opening Day at Capital Credit Union Park in Ashwaubenon is slated for Tuesday, May 31, at 6:35 p.m. against Wisconsin Rapids.

The schedule features games against eight different Great Lakes Division teams.

The Rockers’ opponents for 2022 are Great Lakes West teams Fond du Lac, Lakeshore, Madison, Wausau and Wisconsin Rapids.

The three Great Lakes East opponents are Kalamazoo, Rockford and Traverse City.

The NWL, which plays two halves to determine playoff participants, will end the first half of play July 4, with the second half beginning July 6.

The NWL All-Star break is July 18-20 and will be hosted by Wisconsin Rapids.

Highlights of the 2022 schedule include:

  • The Rockers will play six home games on Mondays, four Tuesday games, four games on Wednesdays, eight Thursday games, five games on Fridays, four Saturday games and five games on Sundays.
  • The final home game of the regular season will be Friday, Aug. 12, against Lakeshore for “Fan Appreciation Night.”
  • The Rockers will host Lakeshore June 16 for a day-night doubleheader. Game one of the twin-bill will be a 12:05 p.m. start, while the night game will commence at 6:35 p.m. There will be two separate openings for the doubleheader that day.
  • The Major League Dreams Showcase event, featuring the top 100 prospects in the NWL as chosen by a panel of Major League scouts, is Aug. 2 at Copeland Park in La Crosse.
