Outdoor patio approved for Anduzzi’s in Ashwaubenon

ASHWAUBENON – The village board agreed Tuesday, April 27, to allow Anduzzi’s Sports Club at 1992 Holmgren Way to add an outdoor seating and entertainment patio on the east side of the building in an existing parking lot.

The board’s action came after Ashwaubenon’s Site Plan Review Committee and Plan Commission recommended the project’s site plan and the Public Works and Protection Committee favored an amendment to the site’s premises where alcohol would be allowed.

Community Development Director Aaron Schuette said board approval was required because the property is located in the village’s Sports and Entertainment zoning district.

Schuette said the approximately 5,700-sqaure-foot outdoor patio will be enclosed by planter boxes around the perimeter with shipping containers to be utilized as an outdoor bar on the south side and a stage on the north.

“(The planter boxes will) be 24 inches off the sidewalk to accommodate the roll curb and storm water inlets,” he said.

Because a dedicated fire lane exists on the south end of the proposed patio area, Schuette said Ashwaubenon Public Safety requested moving the shipping container to be used for a bar on the south out of the lane further to the north.

He said small LED lights, which generate little glare and are used across porches, will be used for the patio lights.

Village Manager Joel Gregozeski said Anduzzi’s premise description on its liquor license needed to be extended to the outdoor patio area to be able serve alcohol there.

Gregozeski said the village code does not require a fence around the patio.
