Area regional wrestling results

BROWN COUNTY – The WIAA wrestling postseason began Jan. 30 with Ashwaubenon, Bay Port, De Pere, Green Bay Preble, Green Bay United, Pulaski, Seymour and West De Pere all competing at regionals.

The top two wrestlers from each weight class advanced to sectionals Feb. 6.

The Division 1 sectional will take place at Wausau East High School, while the Division 2 sectional will take place at Seymour High School.

Overall, 11 area wrestlers won regional titles and 28 advanced to sectionals.

Division 1 Shawano Regional

Bay Port (214.5 points – second), Pulaski (172.5 – third), De Pere (124 – fourth), Preble (122 – fifth), Ashwaubenon (89 – sixth) and GBU (31 – seventh) competed.

106: Ethan Eggert, PUL, second.

113: Owen Noel, BP, second.

120: Shane Corrigan, DP, first; Trent Phillips, PRE, second.

126: Collin Hansen, DP, second.

132: Ryan Frewerd, PUL, first; Will Nast, BP, second.

138: Brady Deal, PRE, second.

145: Jacob Ward, BP, first.

152: Tristan Taylor, PUL, first; Ayden Bruckner, BP, second.

160: Connor Shefchik, PRE, second.

170: Trevor Nys, BP, second.

182: Connor Ramage, ASH, first; Michael Alexander, DP, second.

195: Drake Anderson, BP, first.

220: Nathan Moynihan, ASH, first; Max Burdette, PUL, second.

285: Vaughn Campbell, BP, second.

Division 1 Kaukauna Regional

West De Pere was the only local team to compete at the Kaukauna Regional and placed sixth with 76 points.

132: Jake Hendricks, WDP, second.

Division 2 Oconto Falls Regional

Seymour was the only local team to compete at the Oconto Falls Regional and placed second with 192 points.

113: Noah Gorecki, SEY, second.

120: Wyatt Kaczrowski, SEY, first.

126: Ryan Tomazevic, SEY, first.

138: Samuel Dudley, SEY, second.

145: Blake Linsmeyer, SEY, second.

160: Lucas Leisgang, SEY, second.

170: Javon Leisgang, SEY, first.

220: Joseph Day, SEY, first.
