St. Norbert College announces 2021 Hall of Fame class

DE PERE – The St. Norbert College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame has grown by five individuals.

Inductees are Marc Belanger (men’s hockey), Jeff Pentek (men’s cross country and track and field), Jenny Scherer (women’s cross country and track and field), Nick Tabisz (men’s hockey) and Jared Yost (baseball).

Belanger, a 2008 graduate, was a four-year letter winner in men’s hockey from 2005-08.

He was a two-time, first-team AHCA All-America selection in 2007 and 2008 and a second-team CoSIDA Academic All-American in 2008.

Seventh in career scoring at St. Norbert with 132 points, he scored 62 goals and 70 assists.

Belanger scored a team-high 45 points in 2008 when the Green Knights captured their first national championship.

He totaled 132 points as a forward.

Pentek, a 2008 graduate, was a four-year letter winner in men’s cross country from 2004-07 and men’s track and field from 2005-08.

He is the only male cross country runner at St. Norbert to capture the Midwest Conference individual championship and the only male to qualify for the NCAA Division III championship.

A three-time overall NCAA qualifier, he won five Midwest Conference titles and holds four school records.

Scherer, a 2010 graduate, was a four-year letter winner in women’s cross country and women’s track and field from 2007-10.

She also earned one letter in women’s basketball in 2007.

She is a nine-time All-American, with four coming at the NCAA outdoor track championship, three at the NCAA cross country championship and two at the NCAA indoor track championship.

She’s one of 20 Division III athletes to earn three top-10 finishes at the NCAA cross country championship.

Scherer totaled 11 overall Midwest Conference titles in her career.

Tabisz, a 2011 graduate, was a four-year letter winner in men’s hockey from 2008-11.

He was a three-time, first-team AHCA All-American from 2009-11 and was a two-time, second-team CoSIDA Academic All-American in 2010-11.

The first four-time, first-team All-Northern Collegiate Hockey Association selection in program history, he played on national championship teams in 2008 and 2011.

Tabisz scored the game-winning goal in the 2011 national championship game, finishing with 98 career points as a defenseman.

Yost, a 2011 graduate, was a four-year letter winner in baseball from 2008-11.

He was St. Norbert’s first male four-time, first-team All-Midwest Conference selection in any sport and was the MWC North Division Player of the Year and first-team All-Central Region pick in 2009.

He finished his career at St. Norbert as the school’s career leader in hits (210), runs batted in (147) and total bases (326) and is third all-time in stolen bases (73).

One of three players in St. Norbert history to hit three home runs in a game, Yost also shares school records for hits in a season (74) and consecutive games hitting streak (23).

The Class of 2021 brings the total enshrined in the St. Norbert Athletics Hall of Fame to 157.

The Hall of Fame Induction will be Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021.
