SEYMOUR – The Seymour boys’ cross country team won a three-team Bay Conference meet Oct. 10 at Seymour High School.

The Thunder’s low score of 19 points easily outdistanced Shawano (39) and Xavier (70) for the top spot.

Seymour’s Jason Skinkis (18:00) narrowly defeated Shawano’s Ethan Onesti (18:02) by 2 seconds in a sprint finish to win overall.

The Thunder placed five runners in the top 10.

Riley Clement (third, 18:04), Blake Linsmeyer (fourth, 18:13), Jacob Woldt (fifth, 18:23), Gunar Weyer (sixth, 18:24), Reid Clement (15th, 19:29), Evan Smet (19th, 19:53) and Tyler Reuter (20th, 19:53) also participated for Seymour.

“The boys continue to look strong this season and remain undefeated,” said Seymour head coach Scott Michalski. “I’m so happy and proud of them because they worked hard over the summer putting in quality miles together.”

Mark Rusch (20:08) won the junior varsity race for the Thunder.

For the girls, Seymour finished second with 48 points.

Xavier (26) and Shawano (59) finished first and third, respectively.

Micayla Silas (21:48) was the top Thunder runner, finishing fourth.

Seymour’s Sydney Leisgang (fifth, 21:50), Brooke Mullen (16th, 24:17), Justine Linsmeyer (17th, 24:35), Elizabeth Zahn (19th, 24:44), Zoe Engebos (26:38) and Olivia Tingo (31st, 27:11) also participated.

“The girls continue to improve, setting season personal bests,” Michalski said. “Each week, they are running closer together as a pack and gaining confidence.”

The Thunder will next compete at the WIAA Division 1 subsectional meet Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Colburn Park in Green Bay.
