Bay Port hires new coaches

SUAMICO – Bay Port High School has hired three new head coaches.

Meghan Wood is returning as the head coach of the girls’ swimming and diving program.

She spent the previous two seasons as an assistant coach under Jim Schilz.

In the past, Wood had led the girls’ program before stepping into the assistant coach role.

Schilz is moving to the boys’ swimming and diving team after Steve Jeffers resigned following the 2019-20 season.

Schilz had been the girls’ head coach the past two seasons.

Kris Pulka-Schuh is the new volleyball coach.

She replaces Thiago Barbosa, who resigned this past spring and is now an assistant coach at the University of California-San Diego.

Pulka-Schuh has been a head coach at both West De Pere and Kewaunee high schools and has been a WIAA varsity volleyball official.

She teaches at Green Bay Southwest High School and played collegiately at Michigan Tech University.

The Fox River Classic Conference moved its fall sports – which includes girls’ swimming and diving and volleyball – to next spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Boys’ swimming and diving is a winter sport.
