Green Bay offense halted in loss to Rafters

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Green Bay Booyah couldn’t get the bats started in a 3-0 loss to Wisconsin Rapids Sunday, July 12.

The Booyah’s (5-7) pitching performance out of bullpen was solid, with Chris Jefferson, Ben Hampton and Avery Stephens combining for six innings of scoreless relief.

Hampton, a graduate of West De Pere, went 3.1 innings, striking out five.

In Jefferson’s first appearance back with the Booyah, he gave up two hits and also struck out two.

Lefty Jack Mahoney was handed the loss after going the first two innings and giving up three earned runs.

Offensively, the Booyah picked up three total hits, with Matt McDonald and Green Bay Preble’s Max Wagner each collecting a hit.

Wagner was the only Booyah player to reach third base on the day.

Green Bay returns home to play three of the next four games at Capital Credit Union Park against the Wisconsin Woodchucks.

First pitch for all three home games is scheduled for 6:35 pm, with Kentucky freshman Harrison Cook taking the mound Monday, July 13.

It will be the first time this year the Booyah face the Woodchucks.
