Tell me about your family.

“My dad grew up in Cedarburg, and my mom is from Cincinnati, Ohio, but she’s lived here for a long time. I have an older brother, Brady, who is a junior at UW-River Falls.”

Do you come from a sports family?

“My mom played volleyball in high school, and my dad was crazy into sports – basketball, football, baseball, tennis and golf. Brady did tennis and baseball.”

Was there a sport you wish you’d done?

“Cross country. It would’ve been good for me, but I could never get myself to do it.”

If the spring season hadn’t gotten canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, how would the soccer team have done?

“It was disappointing because I think we would’ve had a good squad. We had some excellent freshmen joining the team.”

What was it like having Andy Steger as your soccer coach?

“He was a fun coach and treated all of us like we were his daughters. You can tell he cares about you, so it was easy to respect him as a coach and play hard for him.”

What are you expecting at Eau Claire for soccer?

“The team is bringing in lots of freshmen, including Vanessa Grunwald from Pulaski and myself. Vanessa plays on my club team, so I’m hoping we have a bond developing already. It will be nice having some friends there with me.”

What’s your most memorable soccer moment?

“During a game my junior year against Green Bay Southwest, I had a hat trick (three goals) and two assists.”

What about basketball?

“Against Southwest my senior year, we beat them by one point in overtime.”

Does anything embarrassing come to mind?

“Before our Bay Port game last season, Steger had drawn up a corner-kick play to trick them. Taylor Wittek always took our corner kicks. She was going to touch the ball but not show anyone she had touched it. Then I would go and pretend I was going to take the corner kick but dribble the ball in – it was a safe play and no one knew about it. We practiced it all week, and no one was guarding me, but I kicked the ball out of bounds on accident. Steger was pretty upset.”

How was the virtual learning after school was canceled in March?

“It was challenging, and I thought it was harder than normal school. I figured it out and got through it.”

What are your favorite baking shows?

“The British Baking Show and Cupcake Wars.”

Is there something about you most people don’t know?

“When I get over-tired, my feet itch.”

What are two of your favorite vacation spots?

“Mexico and Colorado.”

Is there a place you’d like to visit?

“The Caribbean.”

What three words describe you?

“Outgoing, motivated, funny.”

What will you miss about De Pere?

“The people and teachers. Every kid I met there was nice and you could be friends with them. The teachers always gave you their time.”

How will you be remembered at De Pere?

“I hope as someone who worked hard, helped others and made them better.”
