MADISON – Two area wrestlers – De Pere’s Shane Corrigan and Ashwaubenon’s Cody Minor – saw their chance to win a WIAA Division 1 state title end in the finals at the 77th Annual WIAA Individual Wrestling Championship Tournament Feb. 29 in Madison.

The sophomore Corrigan (106 pounds) lost to Kaukauna’s Greyson Clark via pin 1:06 into the match.

Minor (132), who won a state championship last season at 113, lost to West Bend East’s Cayden Henschel at the buzzer in a 4-2 setback.

Ashwaubenon

Connor Ramage (170, third), Noah Leisgang (145, fourth) and Nathan Moynihan (220, fourth) all made the podium.

Bay Port

Jacob Ward (138) and Drake Anderson (195) both finished fourth.

De Pere

Andrew Lopez (138) placed sixth, while Sam Bruss (145) and Michael Alexander (160) also competed.

Pulaski

Mason Wells (195) lost his only match.

West De Pere

Trent Francois (120) lost his first match but won his second match in the consolation bracket before bowing out in the next round.
