Bicycling presentation Nov. 21

GREEN BAY – Meet cross–country cyclists and authors, Peter and Tracy Flucke, and learn what it takes to bicycle across the country on a bicycle built for two.

Their presentation will touch on their first three cross-country bicycle trips and feature their 2019 Sierra/Cascades bicycle adventure.

The Nov. 21 discussion begins at 6 p.m., but doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for those who want to meet the authors and purchase a copy of their book, “Coast to Coast on a Tandem.”

The free presentation will take place at the Ashwaubenon Community Center, located at 900 Anderson Drive.

The Fluckes have completed three unsupported cross-country bicycle trips on their tandem: Northern Tier – 2014 (4,362 miles); Mississippi River – 2015 (3,052 miles); and Historic Route 66 – 2016 (2,603 miles).

In 2017, the Fluckes wrote their first book, “Coast to Coast on a Tandem,” which chronicles their 2014 Northern Tier bicycle adventure.

Their 2019 Sierra/Cascades bicycle adventure began in Bellingham, Washington, and ended 1,456 miles later in Fallon, Nevada.

Plans were to bicycle approximately 7,000 miles to meet their goal of bicycling through every state in the lower 48.

Find out why the Fluckes abandoned their trip and learn about the challenges they encountered bicycling along the Sierra and Cascade Mountain ranges.
