BROWN COUNTY – The WIAA recently released the volleyball brackets for the upcoming postseason.
For most area teams, regionals begin Thursday, Oct. 24.
The regional finals take place two days later on Oct. 26.
Sectional play commences Thursday, Oct. 31, with sectional-final matches being held Saturday, Nov. 2.
Sectional winners advance to the Resch Center in Green Bay for the state championships, Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 7-9.
Locally in Division 1, Bay Port received a No. 3 seed and will host No. 14 Ashwaubenon in the regional opener.
The Pirates recently won their first-ever conference title in the program’s history.
In other Division 1 regional matchups, No. 7 Green Bay Preble will host No. 10 Green Bay East, No. 8 De Pere will host No. 9 West De Pere, No. 12 Pulaski will travel to No. 5 Appleton East and No. 13 Green Bay Southwest will make the short trip to No. 4 Kaukauna.
In Division 2, No. 3 Notre Dame Academy will entertain No. 14 Marinette, while No. 13 Green Bay West travels to No. 4 Freedom.
In Division 4, No. 1 Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran/Providence Academy received a first-round bye and will host the winner of No. 8 Sheboygan Lutheran and No. 9 Eastbrook Academy Oct. 24.
