Ashwaubenon’s Coach Karcz steps down

ASHWAUBENON – Ashwaubenon High School boys’ basketball coach Chris Karcz has decided to step down.

Karcz was the coach for the past two seasons.

“We appreciate Coach Karcz’s time running the program and wish him well,” said activities director/associate principal Nick Senger.

The program will immediately begin its search to hire a replacement.

“We will be working on finding a coach that has the commitment, desire and ability to connect to our student-athletes in the youth and high school program,” Senger added.

The Jaguars finished 12-35 overall under Karcz’s leadership, including a 7-17 record last season.

Chris Morgan, a sophomore guard and one of Ashwaubenon’s most productive players last year, transferred to Kaukauna after the school year.

The Jags will be led this season by junior forward Kyle Krueger.

Krueger was a second-team all-conference pick in the Fox River Classic Conference as a sophomore, when he averaged 14.8 points, 8 rebounds and 2.4 assists a game.
