Eastbound Cormier Road traffic being detoured

By Press Times Staff

ASHWAUBENON – As of Wednesday, June 5, the eastbound lanes of Cormier Road are being closed from Oneida Street to Ashland Avenue for an extended period of time because of a construction project.

In his weekly update of the Cormier Road construction, Brett Vissers of KL Engineering said eastbound traffic will be detoured south on Oneida Street to the east on Pilgrim Way to Ashland Avenue.

Vissers said westbound traffic on Cormier Road will be reduced to a single lane from Ashland Avenue to Oneida Street.

He said all driveway access along Cormier Road needs to be from the westbound lane with the driveways remaining open.

If a driveway needs to be closed to complete work in front of it, Vissers said the contractor will discuss that with the property owners 24 hours in advance.

For properties with two or more driveways, he noted one driveway will remain open at all times.

During the week of June 10-14, Vissers said the contractor will be installing storm sewer from the Cormier Road/Holmgren Way intersection toward Oneida Street and removing concrete pavement in the eastbound lanes.

He said that storm sewer installation will continue during the week of June 17-21.

This year’s construction on Cormier Road from Oneida Street to Ashland Avenue in Ashwaubenon began in April and is scheduled to run through Sept. 13.

The work consists of concrete pavement removal, sidewalk removal, storm sewer, grading, base aggregate dense material, hot mix asphalt pavement, concrete pavement, concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalk, traffic signals, pavement markings and all incidental items necessary to complete the project, which has a cost of around $3.46 million.
