De Pere school board salaries remain flat

DE PERE – Board members of the Unified School District of De Pere School Board won’t get a raise this year.

The board voted unanimously Monday, May 6, to keep its salaries to $3,600 for the board president, $3,400 for the vice president, treasurer and clerk; and $3,200 for other board members.

The salaries put the school board below the average school board salary of $3,907 for presidents and around $3,600 for officers, but it’s within the median of the seven school districts in the area.

The highest is the Green Bay Area Public School District, at $4,800 for the president and officers.

Salaries are paid in two installments per year.

President David Youngquist suggested they consider a small boost in salaries next year, so that they don’t end up hiking salaries dramatically later.

Youngquist was reelected as president of the school board, Mark Meneau as vice president, Dan Van Straten as clerk, and newcomer Bob Mathews was named treasurer.

Meneau, Mathews and Mike Paroubek were sworn for two-year terms on the board.

The board also established committee membership: The curriculum committee consists of Meneau, Van Straten and Youngquist.

On the finance committee are Mathews, Jeff Mirkes, and Doug Seeman, and on the personnel committee are Seeman, Meneau and Paroubek.
